Our Story
Komiunity started with a simple observation: in many parts of the world, the talent and enterprise of local communities outstrip the platforms available to them. Sellers rely on word-of-mouth or social-media posts that vanish in a feed, buyers struggle to discover what is available nearby, and the communities themselves see none of the economic activity they generate.
We built Komiunity to change that. It is a marketplace organised around communities — cooperatives, savings groups, neighbourhoods, associations, faith organisations, or any group with a shared identity. Sellers join a community, list their products and services, and a percentage of every sale flows directly back to the community treasury, funding whatever the group decides matters most — scholarships, infrastructure, events, or reinvestment in its members.
The platform takes a small, transparent commission, and sellers keep the rest. No hidden fees, no algorithm deciding who gets seen, no lock-in. Just trade that works for everyone involved.

Communities organise
A group — a cooperative, a neighbourhood, an association — registers as a community and sets a contribution rate. Every member seller’s sales send that percentage back to the group.
Sellers list & sell
Sellers apply to join a community, get verified, and list products or services. They set their own prices, manage orders, and track earnings in real time from their dashboard.
Buyers shop with purpose
Buyers browse by community or category, pay securely via M-Pesa or card, and know that part of what they spend goes directly to a community cause they can see.
